Philosophy Statement: Student Body: LLC serves Referral Procedure: Students entering LLC are referred through the high school guidance office to the building principal. Upon receiving a referral, the principal will review all pertinent information, and if the referral is approved by the principal, the appropriate guidance counselor will send the documents to the LLC teachers, and an intake conference will be scheduled. During the intake conference, the student’s learning path with be reviewed with the student and parent(s)/guardian(s), and a class schedule will be determined. Curriculum: Most classes at LLC are a combination of computer modules and material taken directly from the traditional high school curriculum. The LLC curriculum also includes a work/study and a service-learning component whereby students may earn elective credits. Attendance: In order to be considered for continued placement in the alternative setting, a student must complete six credits per semester. If the student enrolls after the beginning of the semester, it is expected that he/she will complete approximately one credit every three weeks. Good attendance and punctuality are prerequisites to learning and success. Extracurricular Events: LLC students may participate in all high school extracurricular events.
